Academics

At Harold W. Lang Sr. Middle School, we celebrate academic excellence through a variety of clubs and enrichment programs that challenge students to think critically and creatively. Students can exercise their minds in Chess Club, sharpening strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, contribute to Yearbook, capturing and celebrating the school’s memories, or develop persuasive speaking and critical reasoning in Debate. Through Destination Imagination (D.I.), students learn to view challenges as opportunities for growth while developing innovative solutions through teamwork and creativity. TMSCA engages students in math and science through invitational meets and state competitions modeled after UIL contests, strengthening their problem-solving and collaboration skills. Meanwhile, Academic Pentathlon gives sixth, seventh, and eighth graders the chance to showcase their intellect in a five-event, theme-based scholastic competition against peers from other schools. Together, these programs empower HW Lang Pioneers to explore, compete, and achieve with purpose and pride.
